Week 13: Ntinda, Uganda

(slow connection, only able to upload one picture)

Well as you can tell from the subject I am now in Ntinda, Kampala. Which is the the main city in Kampala... Which means that it is crazy here! I went from serving in the quiet village on Mpumudde to the busy city of Ntinda. There are big building roads people and cars everywhere. Nice cars too. I have seen BMW X5's, Ford F150's, Mercades, toyota, lexus, and so many more... My area is absolutely huge! it is about the size of all of Cedar! We have to take bus rides(multiple) to get to a certain part of our area. I am the District Leader Here. My companion is Elder Nozintaba from Cape Town and we stay in a 2 man apartment across from the AP's. also
in my district in sister Kiwala from Ugandia, and sister Gnamini for south africa. They are all awesome. My companion is a bit on the quiet side but I will break him out of that soon. There are so many hill here... Huge rolling hills of car filled asphalt. I have lost 20 pounds by the way…

I really love my mission more that anything. I love Fast Sundays here. When someone bears their Testimony that is a recent convert baptized by missionaries you are overwhelmed with the spirit. It strengthens my
testimony of missionary work. One thing I have learned is to WORK! People that say they don't like to work simple don't know how to work! If they did know how, they would realize that it is much better than
play. The relationship I have developed with my savior is something I will continue to strengthen and never forget. I know that if we really want something from the lord we have to work for it! For example if a baseball play says he would give anything to play in the pro's he doesn't mean it if he doesn't practice every day of his life until he reaches that destination. Remember that when we pray and ask for something the Lord expects us to act. If you have faith in the lord then you will act. Nothing will happen if you sit around and do nothing. If you pray for a job and then go sit and watch TV the lord wont help you. But if you pray for a job then go look for one, that is when you will notice the Lord's hand in your life. I love this gospel and I love my Savior more than any temporal thing on this world. Our time on earth is to prepare to meet god. Let us not waste that time
and look back on the day of judgement and wish that we could've done something different. Like the example of Christ speaking to the Apostles while they were fishing... To peter specifically. Christ asked peter, "do you love me". and peter said, "yes lord" and Christ again ask, "peter, do you love me". Peter said, "yes Lord I love thee". For a third time Christ asked peter,"peter, do you love me." And peter(confused) replies,"father, thou knowest all things and knowest that I love thee."  Christ then pretty much tells peter, "then why are you wasting your time fishing when you should be feeding my sheep…. Christ tells peter to go and preach his gospel for the rest of his
life until one day he will be hated and crucified as Christ was… On the day of Judgement Christ will look each of us in the eyes and ask us, like peter, "Do you love me?" if we are able to say, "Yes father I love Thee", then we will feed his sheep. Let us learn from peter's example. If we love Christ, then we will feed his sheep. When all that is said and done on this earth, the most important thing we could have done is bring others unto Christ.
That applies to all members of the church and not of the church. Go and serve your fellow men. Feed his sheep. I know if you Truly love God then that is what we will do. And I hope that on the day of
Judgement when Christ looks us in the face and asks, " Do you love me?"... We will be able to proudly look at him and say, " Yes Lord, I love Thee".
