Week 40 | Gulu, Uganda

(Pictures from a memory card sent home)

A beautiful and powerful family was baptized yesterday! Joel, Lillian
and their daughter Sherron... the father has a incredible story.. he
was abducted by Kony and was a rebel for 8 years until he finally
escaped and his life was a mess, until he met us through his cousin
that is a member. The process of us teaching his family is one I will
never forget. He is one of the most powerful and determined men I have
ever met. he was a baptist, catholic, protestant and even Muslim, just
searching for the truth... then we brought him the Message of the
Restoration and he knew for a fact this was what he needed to hear and
the message and church he had been searching for! powerful....
Also I finally got to watch conference and loved it! I felt that the
Lord was focusing to me on missionary work, my future family, and also
the Qualifications that we Have to have to become Gods.
I came up with a personal Quote as I watched,
"God knows what qualifications we need to become like him. We can
chose to disqualify ourselves or chose to not follow the simple
things, but remember by doing so we are directly proving to God that
we are not qualified to inherit his kingdom. God has set the rules and
standards, not man, nor can man alter or change them."
We need to serve and obey the Lord. Commandments are not given to tie
us down. God have been through a life of his own and he is the one
that know's what we have to do in our mortal bodies to enter into the
Celestial kingdom. If we don't follow him or we aren't obedient to his
commandments we aren't ready for his kingdom. Or even our own kingdom.
