haha right outside of the truck!!! one actually ran basically over the truck!!! missed us by a few feet!!! so cool
What? Is that a real elephant? YES!!!
Chobbe!!!
Baptism of Martin and Paul!!!
Martin Baptized his best friend the same day he got the Aaronic Priesthood! Powerful Sunday
Wow what a week!
At the first of the week, Elder Ngesi and I went down to Kampala on a 7 hour drive for our MLC! Mission Leadership Conference. It was really awesome! I love the way things President Chatfield is running things. We focused on "Quality, rather than Quantity". Some missionaries try so hard to meet the mission goal standards and sometimes end up baptizing people before they are fully prepared. the mission retention is at 19Percent right now... which is not good. Luckily in My zone this month combined we had 90Percent Retention which is awesome for Gulu and the highest it has ever been! the MIssionaries in my zone are wonderful!
I love my area and the people and my companion and my District and my Zone! I couldn't be more happy!
Today was LEGIT!! We went to a Safari Lodge called Chobbe! Wow the most beautiful place I have ever been. It is build high up over the Nile river and there is massave patio's that surround the river and you look down at hundreds of Hipo's and there are crocodiles and we saw many giraffes again. But the greatest of all was we finally saw an Elephant!!! those things are huge!!! I got within about 5 yards of it too!!! This was the best Pday ever. This is the place that I will take Kensie someday and my family!!! It is so legit!!!
The branch we have here in Gulu. well there are 2. the gulu and Bardege branch. The bardege branch is doing great and is totally capable on their own. The Gulu branch also is great, but us as missionaries are trying to teach them everything so they can do it on their own. We want to be able to leave and them be able to continue on their own.
We have baptized 3 prospective missionaries the last few weeks. Paul, Martin and Benard. all powerful and commited!!! they are already preparing for mission!!! There is nothing greater in this world than to see a child of God, and a fellow brother and sister enter into the sacred Covenant of baptism with the Lord. It is Humbling and also helps me to always think back on the Covenant I made at the year of 8... I make that same Covenant every week and have a testimony of Repentance. The Lord is great and Almighty. He is there and does care!!!
Elder Halladay
