In my area the local government came out against the church
with all those comments on the radio saying we are homo's and that we
are terrorists and that no one should let them in there homes and all
of that stuff and we did sooo many service projects to get the name of
the Church out there... We had Thanksgiving Dinner and invited the
Anglican Minister to our dinner with us(and he is the one saying all
this stuff) and after that he took back everything he said. and we
build sanitation stations at the local hospitals and police barracks
for Mormon Helping Hands, and on Xmas made stuffed animals for all the
kids that had cancer. and we go to orphanages and do service and
because of that we have brought back the unity between the church and
the Thoughts of the society..

I love the talk about overcoming trials.
Was is easy for the Lord? then why do we think it will be easy for us?
Love, Elder Halladay
(An incredible experience as told by Elder Halladay's neighbor of seven years from Santa Clara, Ut)
" I came to the Mt. Elgon hotel today to get some lunch and work done with a better internet connection. I was sitting down, looked up for a second and saw a group of Mormon missionaries standing around the pool. They were far away, but one of the elders was white and I recognized him! Elder Halladay! He had come with the elders of the Mbale branch and the older missionaries to eat for his birthday! We joined them for lunch and then afterwards went over for some cake and ice cream at their house. In only a few hours of interacting with him I was very impressed with the missionary he is. So humble. So kind. It was easy to see how admired he was by the other missionaries, and even easier to see how much he loves the people and his mission.
We both just kept saying how weird it was that not too long ago we were playing basketball and nintendo 64 with you in Santa Clara, and how now we were eating lunch together in Uganda. Of all places. So happy that I got to see Elder Halladay today, and glad that I will be seeing a lot of him over the next few months. He sends his love!" -Rachel Wade
(And she send these pictures too! What an angel to our family!)
